Ok so lets get onto the January clean-out or as I like to say out with OLD and in with the NEW...

I was surfing the web recently and came across some great ideas for purging your clothes, and this could also work for toys and games, kids stuff etc.  I thought it was such a great idea that I am going to implement this in the kids rooms and in mine.

This comes from Peter Walsh who is an organizing expert and writer, he has some really wonderful ideas that I know we can all use, but this one I really like:

Keep a donation hamper in your closet. Every two weeks select an item of clothing you haven't worn in the past six months and throw it in. When the hamper is full, take it to a local charitable organization.

This next idea comes from Lorie Marrero, author of Clutter Diet. This is something I have started doing but somehow got overwhelmed with them all and had grand ideas of trying new recipes and it basically it just did not happen.  So I am going to work on completing this task:

Have a pile of cookbooks gathering dust? Scan and print the one or two recipes you use the most often, then donate the book. Same goes for recipes in magazines. Tear out the relevant pages, then recycle the rest. Put the pages into clear plastic pockets in a three-ring binder. You've just made yourself a customized cookbook with plenty of room to grow.

These are 2 wonderful ideas that can be easily done either in an evening or over the weekend...don't let the clutter distract or discourage you. We all have clutter in our homes, it is how we handle that clutter that matters.

Have fun...
